Pure Cashmere
All Pure cashmere products are made from the world's finest cashmere acquired directly from 100% sustainable sources in Inner Mongolia, home to a pedigree of goats that grow the whitest and finest cashmere on the planet.
The difference between the exceptional quality of Pure and other cashmeres can only be conveyed by feeling it and wearing it. What makes Pure special is not just the painstaking attention to detail we apply to every single piece but the quality of the raw material that is transformed into a Pure garment.
Not all cashmere is the same
To our knowledge there are no other cashmere brands, from designer labels to mass market retailers, who openly share the specification of their cashmere fibre.Pure has specified the same quality since the company was founded in 2002. The very finest, the very longest, the very whitest - a premium grade of cashmere defined as:
- Inner Mongolian White for White, 36-38mm, maximum 15.5 micron - used to create the standard 12 gauge Pure collection and;
- Inner Mongolian White for White, 38-40mm, maximum 14.5 micron - used to create the Pure Superfine collection.
Every batch of Pure cashmere fibre is rigorously analysed for colour, length and thickness before it enters the process. Pure cashmere is literally the best cashmere in the world and the expertise of the Inner Mongolian craftsmen and women who spin and knit Pure cashmere is world class.
Uniquely 100% sustainable
Pure is the only label to source 100% of it's cashmere from a sustainable source and at no extra cost to the consumer. Pure cashmere is grown from herds of goats that are farmed in a controlled area so that they do not cause devastation to the ecologically sensitive grasslands of Inner Mongolia. Since April 2008, all cashmere that bears the Pure label has been made from sustainable sources and whilst 'we' pay a cost premium to source in this way we believe the incremental cost is a small price to pay for the peace of mind it offers, which is something we recognize is increasingly valued by our customers.
